"Before I came to see Shireen I was at a real low point in my life and I didn't feel like getting out of bed on most days. Shireen listened to me in a caring and non judgmental manner and helped me to to get my life back on track. For anyone considering counselling with Shireen I would say just try it! I feel it helped me to become a more positive and productive person and gave me the tools to better deal with problems in life." Client feedback, September 2015
My approach to counselling
Many a time in our darkest hours we experience feelings of isolation, hopelessness and despair, empathic counselling can help to overcome some of these overwhelming emotions and feelings. I sincerely believe counselling can be beneficial for anyone and everyone, whether it is accessed to overcome an immediate crisis, to explore issues in the past, or to develop a greater degree of self-awareness and self-belief. The capacity for growth, in my opinion, is inherent in one’s nature and counselling aims to provide the most conducive and effective environment for this growth.
Within my therapy room my aim is to provide you, my client, with a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore, discuss and evaluate issues that are causing you distress. My role as a counsellor is to support and help you through your journey. Having personally experienced the benefits of counselling myself and watching it transform my clients lives I feel confident enough to recommend it whole heartedly to anyone in need.
"I lacked confidence in myself...your inner strength lifted my spirits and filled me with self belief. For this I am so grateful, Thank you Shireen" Client Feedback
My inspiration to become a counsellor
My inspiration to become a Counsellor I can credit to a volunteer counsellor based at the hospital where I spent a couple of difficult weeks, her dedication and support to her clients and their wellbeing was admirable. I was impressed by the energy, confidence and self-satisfaction that radiated from her as she worked. Ever since I can remember I have had a desire to help people but it wasn’t until I went through my own personal crisis and had a positive experience with counselling, that I had the opportunity to evaluate my life and make the decision for a complete career change, To re-train as a counsellor required plenty of hard work and dedication but now when I look back it was one of the best decisions of my life. These past nine years in the field have only re-enforced my belief and trust in the process of counselling.
"Thank you so much for being such a wonderful counsellor. To feel so at ease in talking to you is a great credit to your natural charm, warmth and kindness." Client feedback
