No matter our background, class or education, anyone of us can experience overwhelming feelings that maybe difficult to deal with alone. I believe individuals themselves have the resources within them to deal with their own issues and come up with their own solutions as “no one knows us better than ourselves”. However sometimes we do require guidance and support to reconnect with these resources within us. I can provide you with this guidance in a safe, confidential and a non-judgmental counselling environment.
I can use appropriate skills to empower you to openly and honestly explore your issues. These issues could be current crisis situations, past deep rooted experiences, any experience that causes difficulty and prevent you from living a fulfilling life.
“I am speechless I want to say a lot of things but in short I want to say bundles and bundles of thanks. I have got lots of positively from you. You are really a beautiful angel for me because of you I am going back to my normal life. I am wishing you a more bright future.” Client feedback
I see my role as helping you understand issues and come up with your own conclusions. I can help you get where you want to be but it’s down to you to put the hard work in. We will go on this journey together even though it may a lot of hard work, but if you put the effort in you will experience the benefits. Having personally experienced the benefits of counselling myself and watching it transform my clients lives I feel confident enough to recommend it to anyone in need.
I use Person Centred Theory by Carl Rogers to guild me in my practice. In order to encourage a positive therapeutic relationship and help you get where you want to be I do use the core conditions empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard in the counselling sessions. These core conditions promote open and honest discussions and allow you to lean about the relationships we have with others and ourselves.

My inspiration to become a counsellor
I have always enjoyed helping people from a young age but was never sure what my calling was. When it came time to go to university I decided to study for a social work degree. During my social work practice I worked in a domestic violence refuge, this is where I initially developed an understanding how counselling could help people to transform their lives for the better. Subsequently I also received personal counselling which helped me deal with several issues I had at the time. This first hand counselling experience highlighted to me counselling was something I found worthwhile, interesting and a calling I really wanted to pursue.
